Case study

A portfolio for a photographer

I made Iffer’s Pictures as a Christmas gift for my sister-in-law—and handled the project from the first conversation through the finished site.

A personal brief

It started as a Christmas gift

I worked directly with my sister-in-law to understand her photography, the clients she wanted to reach, and how she wanted the business to feel. From there, I created the brand, wrote the copy, designed the site, and built it.

Designing the frame

The site should support the work without competing with it

  1. Build a brand that fits the work

I started with her color preference and developed the palette, typography, layout, and overall visual direction from there. The finished brand needed to feel like her photography without getting in its way.

  2. Find the voice together

The copy came out of direct conversations and was written to sound personal instead of like a photography template.

  3. Make it work on every screen

I adjusted the gallery and supporting content for desktop and mobile instead of treating the smaller version as an afterthought.

Selected photography

A gallery for different kinds of photography

The site presents portraits, detail shots, family sessions, and events without putting every image in the same kind of frame.

Approved production photography from Iffer’s Pictures. The photography remains the client’s work; I designed and built the site that presents it.

Complete ownership

Building the brand from scratch

She had a color preference, but no existing brand system. I created the palette, typography, visual direction, and site design, then built the portfolio around her photography.
